Stipends and Fees

Stipends and fees are set annually by the department, college and university.

Research Assistant - For 2024-2025, the RA rate is $38,900 for a 12-month, 50% time appt. Tuition remission is included and health insurance is available for a modest monthly premium.

Teaching Assistant - For 2024-25, the TA rate is $14,512 for a one-semester, 50% time appt. Tuition remission is included, and health insurance is available for a modest monthly premium.*

There is no formal application process for assistantships. Students who submit their complete application by January 1 have the best chance for consideration. All applicants will be considered for any available assistantships or fellowships.

We follow the Council of Graduate Schools Resolution which allows students until April 15 to make a decision on any assistantship or fellowship offer.

We are not able to provide assistantships for all admitted students.

*Per campus policy, students enrolled in Professional Master’s programs are not eligible for tuition remission or the Graduate Assistant Health Insurance program.
